iSTAR Medical has been selected as one of three nominees for the 2020 BVA Award “Venture company of the year”. The Award is organised by the Belgian Venture Capital & Private Equity Association to reward and celebrate high-performing Belgian companies backed by private equity or venture capital funds.
“We are grateful to our investors for successfully supporting our enterprise from lab to patients,” stated Michel Vanbrabant, iSTAR Medical CEO. “It is an extraordinary time for iSTAR Medical, with unprecedented results from our glaucoma clinical trials for our first Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS) device MINIject in the run up to market,” he added.
Headquartered in Wavre, Belgium, iSTAR Medical is a med tech company pioneering minimally-invasive ophthalmic implants for powerful, safe and enduring treatment of patients with glaucoma. Founded in 2011, the company has been supported by a number of private and public financial institutions and private investors. Funding included a successful Series C financing round of €40 million in 2019.
The BVA Award ceremony will take place on 7th October in Brussels.
